Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, antimicrobial activity and bleaching effect of some reaction products of 4-oxo-4H-benzopyran-3-carboxaldehydes with aminobenzothiazoles and hydrazides

TL;DR: The hereditary bleaching effect on the plastid system of Euglena gracilis, a unique phenomenon of the biological activity of chromone derivatives, is reported and is used for detecting extranuclear mutations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Donor–π-acceptor benzothiazole-derived dyes with an extended heteroaryl-containing conjugated system: synthesis, DFT study and antimicrobial activity

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of novel derivatives containing an electron-donating N,N-dimethylaminophenyl ring connected to an electronwithdrawing benzothiazole moiety via a heteroaryl system (furan, thiophene or N-methylpyrrole) and up to two ethenylene groups have been synthesized and characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial effects of some benzthiazol derivatives

TL;DR: Substitution with NO2, Cl, Br and I into position 6 of 2-benzthiazoIthiol derivatives increased their antimicrobial efficiency while the SH group is preserved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activity of some 3-formylchromone derivatives on the induction of chloroplast-free mutants in Euglena gracilis

TL;DR: The hereditary bleaching test on Euglena gracilis was used for detecting extranuclear mutations, and the highest bleaching activity (induction of the chloroplast-free mutants) was shown by the 6-R-3-formylchromones.
Journal ArticleDOI

New conjugated benzothiazole-N-oxides: synthesis and biological activity.

TL;DR: Eleven new 2-styrylbenzothiazole-N-oxides have been prepared by aldol – type condensation reactions between 2-methylbenzothsiazole–N-oxide and para-substituted benzaldehydes, and showed typical push-pull molecule properties.
