Spectrophotometric determination of nitrite in water

P. K. Tarafder, +1 more
- 01 Jan 1988 -
TL;DR: A sensitive and selective colour reaction for the determination of nitrite is presented and the results obtained compare favourably with those from standard methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surfactant-mediated extraction of iron and its spectrophotometric determination in rocks, minerals, soils, stream sediments and water samples

TL;DR: In this paper, an extraction spectrophotometric method for iron determination in rocks, minerals, soils, stream sediments and water samples has been developed, which is free from any interference due to commonly associated ions present in the matrices of rock samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of a differential technique in laser-induced fluorimetry: simple and a precise method for the direct determination of uranium in mineralised rocks at the percentage level

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple, rapid, cost-effective, accurate and precise differential laser-induced fluorimetric method for the direct determination of uranium in mineralised rocks at the percentage level is presented, based on the comparison of the fluorescence of the standard with a sample of similar but unknown concentration on the same sample weight basis, by the use of H 3 PO 4 -NH 4 H 2 PO 4 as a fluorescence enhancing reagent.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Optimised 1,10-Phenanthroline Method for the Determination of Ferrous and Ferric Oxides in Silicate Rocks, Soils and Minerals

TL;DR: In this paper, a 1,10-phenanthroline spectrophotometry method was proposed for the sequential determination of FeO and Fe2O3 in rocks, soils and some non-refractory minerals.
