Journal ArticleDOI

Photoelectric Work Function of a Copper Single Crystal for the (100), (110), (111), and (112) Faces

TL;DR: In this article, the Fowler method was used to measure the electron work function for four faces of a copper single crystal cleaned by repeated cycles of ion bombardment and annealing at 700 \ifmmode^\circ\else\text degree\fi{}C under ultrahigh vacuum conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anisotropic work function of clean and smooth low-index faces of aluminium

TL;DR: In this paper, the anisotropic work function of smooth (100), smooth (111), and (110) faces of a single crystal were cleaned through a mild cyclic treatment of ion bombardment and annealing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption of oxygen on clean single crystal faces of aluminium

TL;DR: In this article, the results for clean Al(111) and Al(100) faces with oxygen at low pressure near room temperature were compared. And the results showed that the sticking probability of the (111) face decreases rapidly with coverage, while the work function increases slightly, by 0.1 eV at 200 L.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photoelectric work function of a molybdenum single crystal for the (100), (110), (111), (112), (114), and (332) faces

TL;DR: In this article, the photoelectric work function was measured for six faces of a molybdenum single crystal under ultrahigh vacuum conditions and the homogeneity of the surfaces was tested by the Schottky effect of work function lowering at high collecting fields.
