Mixed convective magnetohydrodynamic flow in a vertical channel filled with nanofluids

This paper addresses nonlinear mixed convection flow due to Riga plate with double stratification. Heat transfer analysis is reported for heat generation/absorption and nonlinear thermal radiation. Physical problem is mathematically modeled and nonlinear system of partial differential equations is achieved. Transformations are then utilized to obtain nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations. Homotopic technique is utilized for the solution procedure. Graphical descriptions for velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions are captured and argued for several set of physical variables. Features of skin friction and Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are also illustrated. Our computed results indicate that the attributes of radiation and temperature ratio variables enhance the temperature distribution. Moreover, the influence of buoyancy ratio and modified Hartmann number has revers effects on rate of heat transfer.

The effect of thermal radiation past an impulsively started infinite vertical plate under the influence of transverse magnetic field has been discussed. The fluid is assumed to be gray, emitting-absorbing but non-scattering medium and the optically thick radiation limit is considered. The dimensionless governing equations are solved using Laplace transformation technique. The velocity and temperature profiles are shown on graphs. The variation of skin-friction is also shown in a table.

Mhd flow past an impulsively started infinite vertical plate in presence of thermal radiation

Unsteady hydromagnetic natural convection flow of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting and temperature dependent heat absorbing fluid confined within a parallel plate rotating vertical channel in porous medium is investigated. Fluid flow within the channel is induced due to impulsive movement of one of the plates of the channel. Exact solution for the governing equations for fluid velocity and fluid temperature are obtained by Laplace transform technique. The expressions for the shear stress at the moving plate due to primary and secondary flows and those of rate of heat transfer at the moving and stationary plates are also derived. In order to gain some physical insight into the flow pattern, asymptotic behavior of the solution for fluid velocity and fluid temperature are analyzed for small and large values of time. The numerical values of primary and secondary fluid velocities and fluid temperature are displayed graphically whereas those of shear stress at the moving plate and rate of heat transfer at both the moving and stationary plates are presented in tabular form for various values of pertinent flow parameters.
