Experimental and numerical studies of thermal performance enhancement in the receiver part of solar parabolic trough collectors

TL;DR: A detailed review of the experimental and numerical works carried out on heat transfer enhancement techniques which focus on minimization of heat loss, use of turbulators, addition of nanofluid and selective coatings in the receiver tube of a solar PTC is presented in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance augmentation of solar photovoltaic panel through PCM integrated natural water circulation cooling technique

TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of phase change material (PCM) and natural water cooling system for effective thermal management of the PV panel is examined to tackle this issue and the performance of the solar photovoltaic (PV) panel is greatly affected by a rise in operating temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance evaluation of solar box cooker assisted with latent heat energy storage system for cooking application

TL;DR: In this article, a latent heat energy storage system was designed and fabricated to cook the food at off-peak hours of solar radiation, which was combined with a solar box cooker with phase change material to meet the cooking needs in remote areas where electricity and fuel supplies are meager.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental analysis of solar photovoltaic unit integrated with free cool thermal energy storage system

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the solar PV system combined with free cool thermal energy storage system containing encapsulated phase change materials is studied and the results are presented and the instantaneous energy and cumulative energy stored in the storage tank during charging process and the cooling potential during the operational hours of solar panel with different mass flow rates of air is studied.
