In this paper, we propose a new watermarking reinforcement approach that ensures a suitable compromise between the security level of a person's biometric data and the computational complexity of the proposed scheme while maintaining a reduced storage space and a good visual quality of the watermarked host image. We validate the suggested approach on two biometric modalities, fingerprint and face, which are among the most frequently deployed and mature ones in biometric watermarking systems. The improved level of safety is ensured by a combined watermarking scheme. In fact, the same watermarking algorithm is applied twice in succession. First, the face of an individual is watermarked by the local characteristics, minutia, of his/her fingerprint. Second, the previously watermarked face image is inserted into the original image of the fingerprint as supplementary identity information. Beside securing the biometric data, the exploration of the watermarked image has shown interesting performances in individuals’ verification. The results of various tests performed on the Biosecure multimodal database have demonstrated that the proposed method is robust to several signal processing attacks.

A combined watermarking approach for securing biometric data

The idea of this paper is to produce an encoded content by giving plain text enter to symmetric cryptographic based on ASCII value and getting decoded text as original text as original text by giving encrypted text symmetric cryptographic based on ASCII value. Method: In this paper, we have proposed an algorithm which is established on the ASCII value to encode a plaintext. This algorithm randomly generates a key for the person having a length equivalent to the length of the plaintext. The randomly generated key is modified to one other key via substitution of position of key utilizing a random number and is used to decode decrypt the message of original plaintext. Finding: GUI interface was developed using Java Net Beans IDE 8.0. Entire outcomes have obtained using a computer with the following specifications: Intel Core i3 CPU and 1GB RAM. Improvement: Besides the proposed algorithm utilized for this exploration, the other chance of utilizing different algorithm will be executed in future work.

Performance Evaluation of Encryption/Decryption Mechanisms to Enhance Data Security

Background/Objectives: In the digital age because of the widespread use of internet, data hiding in digital imagery plays a vital role to ensure copyright protection and robustness from malicious attacks. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This research work explores an overview of the recently existing data hiding techniques used for the hidden exchange of secret information, from its earliest instances through potential future application. We enlighten different data hiding methods termed as watermarking, cryptography and steganography which have been proposed in last few years, some of them are flexible and simple for data hiding purpose. Findings: The potency of these techniques is based on certain features like robustness, imperceptibility and data embedding capacity which enables the users to evaluate the performance and efficiency of these techniques. Application/Improvements: It has great importance in the nearby future especially in the fields like intelligence agencies, military agencies, and cyber crime, so it will be more beneficial for researchers to develop innovative techniques.

An Extensive Survey of Data Hiding Techniques

The significance and popularity of VANET is increasing nowadays because of their great contribution in improving traffic efficiency and safety. We present an authentication and verification scheme of the Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks VANET for the low as well as high traffic conditions. However, communication between two or more vehicles or with RSUs needs to be secure as well as authenticated. In this paper we will discuss the Elliptic Curve Cryptography Algorithm (ECC) approach which uses the vehicle ID, a random generated prime number and time stamp to encrypt the message in a secure manner. Our main focus is to reduce the authentication time; therefore we have used the proxy vehicle which is verified by both RSU and CA and they will do half of the authentication process and decrease the authentication time. In this paper we have taken the parameters of packet loss, delay and throughput and compared the proposed approach for the low traffic conditions and also for high traffic conditions. So the result shows that the proposed scheme provides high quality of message authentications in less time period on both the traffic conditions without affecting the overall security of VANET.

Enhancing the Message Authentication Process in VANET under High Traffic Condition using the PBAS Approach

Background/Objectives: The most image watermarking techniques has nearly always been implemented in red, green and blue color space. This paper provides a method for inserting the QR code in the CIEXYZ color space to store metadata information. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This paper provides new QR code watermarking technique that is included in the low-frequency sub-bands through the haar wavelet transformation to CIE XYZ color space of the color image. Independent Component Analysis was applied to the watermark signal and to insert the QR code to the low frequency band of the host image. In the QR code extraction process, QR code was to be detected even without the image. Findings: The results of several experiments indicate that the proposed method provides unambiguous detection, imperceptibility, security, and robustness against JPEG compression, median filtering, different noise and image cropping attacks. Application/Improvements: This method can be utilized to insert the metadata into the digital content. The proposed method will be developed to be more robust to various attacks in the future.

Embedding QR Code in the Wavelet Domain of Image for Metadata Hiding

Background: The main threat in communication is the unauthorized access of information third party without the knowledge of sender and receiver. Hence the security plays a vital role in data transmission systems. Confidential data like internet banking account passwords and email account passwords needs security in their text data. Data can be text, image, video and audio. Methods: The purpose of this research work is to implement a mechanism to hide information (image) using cryptography. Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a type of symmetric cryptography standard which can be used to transfer a block of information securely during transmission. Findings: The idea of this paper is to generate an encrypted image by giving image input to AES encryption system and getting the decrypted image as original image by giving encrypted image as input to the AES decryption system. The input image is given through MATLAB R2012b to ModelSim6.3 and the system simulation and synthesis is done by integrating Model Sim to the Altera DE2 115 board through Quartus II software. Conclusion: The maximum frequency attained from this workis 165.462MHz. Finally image is displayed through an LCD which is connected to the board using Video Graphics Array (VGA) Connector.
