Journal ArticleDOI
Surgical complications associated with the endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach for pituitary adenomas
TL;DR: Overall, a decreased incidence of complications has been observed, compared with large historical series of the traditional microsurgical transsphenoidal approach, likely because of the overview inside the anatomy facilitated by the endoscope, and the decreased surgical trauma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery.
TL;DR: The endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal approach is a minimally invasive surgical technique for the removal of sellar and parasellar lesions via an anterior sphenoidotomy and ends with the reconstruction of the sella and removal of the endoscope from the nostril, without any postoperative nasal packing.
Book ChapterDOI
Extended endoscopic endonasal approach to the midline skull base: the evolving role of transsphenoidal surgery.
Paolo Cappabianca,Luigi Maria Cavallo,Felice Esposito,O. de Divitiis,Andrea Messina,E. de Divitiis +5 more
TL;DR: The current knowledge of the endoscopic anatomy of the midline skull base as seen from the endonasal perspective is reported, to describe the surgical path and structures whose knowledge is useful during the operation and the step-by-step surgical technique to access the different compartments.
