Journal ArticleDOI

The Bacterial and Fungal Diversity of an Aged PAH- and Heavy Metal-Contaminated Soil is Affected by Plant Cover and Edaphic Parameters

TL;DR: In aged-contaminated soil samples from a field trial, bacterial and fungal species richness and diversity was high suggesting that the community structure and diversity adapted to the contaminated soil over decades, and the presence of plants induced higher bacterial and fungi diversity than in bare soil.
Journal ArticleDOI

In situ assessment of phytotechnologies for multicontaminated soil management.

TL;DR: This work presents a long-term evaluation of the fate and environmental impact of the organic and metallic contaminants of an industrially polluted soil under natural and plant-assisted conditions and prior treatment of the soil by thermal desorption proved to be the only effective treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of a gene cluster involved in PAH degradation in Mycobacterium sp. strain SNP11: Expression in Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2155

TL;DR: Gene expression analysis in Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2155 revealed broad substrate specificity of the ring-hydroxylating dioxygenase, since transformant cells containing phdAB strongly oxidized fluoranthene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluorine and dibenzofuran.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of morpholine by an environmental Mycobacterium strain involves a cytochrome P-450.

TL;DR: The inhibitory effects of metyrapone on the degradative abilities of strain RP1 indicated the involvement of a cytochrome P-450 in the biodegradation of morpholine.
