Journal ArticleDOI
Longitudinal changes in testosterone, luteinizing hormone, and follicle-stimulating hormone in healthy older men
John E. Morley,Fran E. Kaiser,Horace M. Perry,Ping Patrick,Patricia M.K. Morley,Patricia M. Stauber,Bruno Vellas,Richard N. Baumgartner,P. J. Garry +8 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrated a longitudinal decline in testosterone and an increase in LH and FSH in older men as well as highly correlated with one another and with age.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) reduces food intake in mice.
John E. Morley,Michael Horowitz,Patricia M.K. Morley,Patricia M.K. Morley,James F. Flood,James F. Flood +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that PACAP reduces food intake after intracerebroventricular injection in food-deprived mice, and this decrease in food intake is, in part, compensated for by an increase in other behaviors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of feeding by a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor: effects of aging.
John E. Morley,Vijaya B. Kumar,Vijaya B. Kumar,Michael B. Mattammal,Michael B. Mattammal,S.A. Farr,S.A. Farr,Patricia M.K. Morley,Patricia M.K. Morley,James F. Flood,James F. Flood +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that nitric oxide may play an increasingly important role in the feeding drive with advancing age as well as in the modulation of food intake.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anorectic effects of amylin in rats over the life span
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that amylin, when administered IP, decreased food intake in 4-month-old rats at doses of 50, 75, and 100 micrograms/kg.
