Journal ArticleDOI

Sub-barrier Fusion of 6He with 209Bi

TL;DR: In this paper, it is suggested that this enhancement may arise from coupling to positive $Q$ value neutron transfer channels, resulting in ''neutron flow'' between the projectile and the target.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for a doubly magic 24O

TL;DR: The decay energy spectrum for 24O (Z = 8, N = 16 ) has been observed for the first time in this article, and the resonance energy of the lowest lying state, interpreted as the 2 + level, was observed at a decay energy above 600 keV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction cross sections for B-8, Be-7, and Li-6 + Ni-58 near the Coulomb barrier: Proton-halo effects

TL;DR: In this article, optical-model fits were made to the experimental angular distributions, and total reaction cross sections were deduced, and a comparison with other systems provides striking evidence for proton-halo effects on $8}mathrm{B} reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elastic scattering and transfer in the 6 He + 209 Bi system below the Coulomb barrier

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured a total cross section of nearly 200 mb for this group at 6 MeV below the Coulomb barrier, which is consistent with the total reaction cross section deduced from a simultaneously-measured elastic scattering angular distribution.
