Suemmerer,Stefan Typel +47 more
TL;DR: The available data on nuclear fusion cross sections important to energy generation in the Sun and other hydrogen-burning stars and to solar neutrino production are summarized and critically evaluated in this article.
Book
Nuclear Reactions for Astrophysics
Ian J. Thompson,Filomena Nunes +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show how similar processes in stars produce the chemical elements for planets and life, and how these results can be analyzed using exotic beams, using one-channel scattering theory.
Journal ArticleDOI
The magic nature of 132 Sn explored through the single-particle states of 133 Sn
K. L. Jones,K. L. Jones,Aderemi S. Adekola,D. W. Bardayan,Jeffery C. Blackmon,K. Y. Chae,Kelly Chipps,Jolie Cizewski,L. Erikson,C. Harlin,Robert Hatarik,R. Kapler,R. L. Kozub,J. F. Liang,R. J. Livesay,Zhanwen Ma,Brian Moazen,Caroline D Nesaraja,Filomena Nunes,S. D. Pain,N. Patterson,Dan Shapira,J. F. Shriner,Michael Scott Smith,T. P. Swan,T. P. Swan,J. S. Thomas +26 more
TL;DR: Here, the single-particle character of the levels in 133Sn that lie outside the double shell closure present at the short-lived nucleus 132Sn are measured using an inverse kinematics technique that involves the transfer of a single nucleon to the nucleus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transfer and/or breakup modes in the 6He+209Bi reaction near the coulomb barrier
Elí F. Aguilera,J. J. Kolata,Filomena Nunes,Filomena Nunes,F. D. Becchetti,Paul DeYoung,Matthew J. Goupell,Valdir Guimaraes,B. Hughey,M. Y. Lee,D. Lizcano,E. Martinez-Quiroz,A. Nowlin,T.W. O'Donnell,Graham F. Peaslee,D. Peterson,P. Santi,R. White-Stevens +17 more
TL;DR: Reaction products from the interaction of 6He with 209Bi have been measured at energies near the Coulomb barrier and a 4He group of remarkable intensity, which dominates the total reaction cross section, has been observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calculations of three-body observables in 8 B breakup
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the coupled discretized continuum channels approach to calculate the angular distribution of the fragments and their energy distributions compared with those measured at several laboratory angles, revealing the importance of higher-order continuum state couplings for understanding of the measurements.
