Measurement of bacterial specific growth rates in toxic industrial (coke oven) wastewater
TL;DR: In this study, the growth rate of the bacterial populations in pure oxygenated industrial activated sludge was directly measured and respiration measurement appeared to be more a function of bacterial cell maintenance, rather than of bacterial growth potential in the full-scale treatment environment.
