Abstract: With the advent of LSI technology, signal processing hardware and software is slowly changing into dedicated IC's. A few examples are given in this paper, considering a TV-ghost cancellation circuit a portable reading wand and a speech processing system. Interesting is the fact that large systems which were tota1ly unconceivable because uneconomical before the advent of LSI technology, now are being seriously considered for consumer and other applications.
