Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of energy dissipation at the interphase boundaries on impact fracture behaviour of a plain carbon steel
Sergey V. Panin,Sergey V. Panin,D. D. Moiseenko,P. V. Maksimov,I. V. Vlasov,I. V. Vlasov,A. V. Byakov,A. V. Byakov,Pavlo Maruschak,Filippo Berto,Siegfried Schmauder,Alexei Vinogradov +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the impact deformation and fracture behavior of commercial plain carbon pipe steel 17Mn1Si were investigated using excitable cellular automata and laboratory impact bending tests followed by fractographic analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of hydrogen in the formation of oxide-ceramic layers on aluminum alloys during their plasma-electrolytic oxidation
Volodymyr Hutsaylyuk,Mykhailo Student,Volodymyr Posuvailo,Oleksandra Student,Volodymyr Hvozdets'kyi,Pavlo Maruschak,Vadim Zakiev +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a plasma-electrolytic oxidation (PEO) technology of aluminum alloys with the aim to increase their abrasive wear resistance was investigated. But the results showed that both the thickness and the abrasiveness wear resistance of the oxide layers increase at higher rates when hydrogen peroxide is added to the electrolyte, as compared with the use of ozone blowing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mathematical Modeling of Unsteady Gas Transmission System Operating Conditions under Insufficient Loading
Vasyl Zapukhliak,L. Poberezhny,Pavlo Maruschak,Volodymyr Grudz,Roman Stasiuk,Janette Brezinová,Anna Guzanová +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical model is proposed to estimate the amplitude of pressure fluctuations in a gas pipeline along its length, and the possibility of minimizing oscillation processes by disconnecting compressor stations is substantiated for the “Soyuz” main gas pipeline.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical Properties of Gas Main Steels after Long-Term Operation and Peculiarities of Their Fracture Surface Morphology
Volodymyr Hutsaylyuk,Pavlo Maruschak,Ihor Konovalenko,Sergey V. Panin,Roman Bishchak,Mykola Chausov +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the fracture surface consists of sections of ductile and localized zones of micro-spalling, which testifies to the hydrogen-induced embrittlement effect and the steels under investigation possess sufficiently high levels of the mechanical properties required for their further safe exploitation, both in terms of durability and cracking resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of long-term cold climate operation on structure, fatigue durability and impact toughness of 09Mn2Si pipe steel
S. V. Panin,S. V. Panin,Ilya Vlasov,Pavlo Maruschak,A.V. Eremin,Filippo Berto,A.S. Syromyatnikova,Alexei Vinogradov +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the steel used for the transmission natural gas pipeline "Mastakh-Berge-Yakutsk" have been investigated comprehensively after 37 years of operation.
