Structural fracture scales in shock-loaded epoxy composites

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated fracture mechanisms of different scales on epoxy composite materials reinforced with silicon carbide microparticles of different concentrations and found that the high heterogeneity of the epoxy composites at different structural scales is one of the factors responsible for their physical and mechanical properties.

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact toughness of 12Cr1MoV steel Charpy specimens has been studied in the range of temperatures from 20°C to 600°C, and it was found that ion beam treatment of steel deteriorates impact toughness at the tested temperatures by 5-42%.
