Dendritic Silver Nanostructure Growth and Evolution in Replacement Reaction

TL;DR: In this paper, a well-defined dendritic silver nanostructure can be large-scale synthesized in AgNO3 (aqueous) at room temperature, and the nonequilibrium and anisotropic growth at different silver ion concentrations result in controllable morphologies and morphological evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermodynamic and kinetic competition in silver dendrite growth

TL;DR: In this paper, an interesting morphological evolution process driven by a competition between the thermodynamic and kinetic factors is first experimentally observed in a replacement reaction, which provides a theoretical study system for a better understanding of the microscopic origin and morphological transition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Size-dependent structure transformation from amorphous phase to crystal

TL;DR: In this article, a size-dependent crystal growth mechanism was studied by molecular dynamics simulations, where the amorphous silver firstly deposits under the coordinated actions between the lattice mismatch and interactions between silver atoms and the surrounding water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single crystal growth via a grain rotation mechanism within amorphous matrix

TL;DR: In this paper, the molecular dynamics simulations were applied to study the crystallization of Ag from an amorphous matrix, and the results showed that the spontaneously crystallized nuclei interact with the ammorphous phase, undergoing a rotation and realignment process, promote the crystallisation of amorphized phase, and finally form a single crystalline nanostructure.
