Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and optical nonlinear property of Y-type chromophores based on double-donor structures with excellent electro-optic activity

TL;DR: In this article, the density functional theory (DFT) was used to calculate the HOMO-LUMO energy gaps and first-order hyperpolarizability (β) of new Y-type chromophores.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel second-order nonlinear optical chromophores containing multi-heteroatoms in donor moiety: Design, synthesis, DFT studies and electro-optic activities

TL;DR: In this article, a series of novel second-order nonlinear optical chromophores containing additional heteroatoms in donor moieties has been synthesized and systematically characterized, which exhibited both good thermal stability and good solubility in common organic solvents such as chloroform, acetone and N, N-dimethyl formamide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of NLO chromophore with benzo [1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene unit as π-electron bridge

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel chromophore BDT-TCF with benzo[1,2- b :4,5- b ]dithiophene (BDT) unit as electron bridge was synthesized and characterized by UV-vis, NMR spectroscopy, and thermal analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

A nunchaku-like nonlinear optical chromophore for improved temporal stability of guest–host electro-optic materials

TL;DR: In this paper, a nunchaku-like organic second order nonlinear optical chromophore containing a Dπ-A backbone and a rigid biphenylene unit was prepared, and the UV-vis absorption spectra studies demonstrated that the large rigid structure could suppress dipole-dipole interactions effectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and electro-optic activities of novel polycarbonates bearing tricyanopyrroline-based nonlinear optical chromophores with excellent thermal stability of dipole alignment

TL;DR: In this article, two series of novel electro-optic polycarbonates incorporating two kinds of tricyanopyrroline-based nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores were designed and synthesized.
