Influences of vermicomposts on field strawberries: 1. effects on growth and yields.
TL;DR: Responses seemed not to be dose-dependent, since strawberries at one site grew fastest and yielded most in response to the 10 tha(-1) vermicompost application rate, whereas they responded positively and similarly to both the 5 and 10 tha-1 rates of applications at the other site.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of vermicomposts produced from cattle manure, food waste and paper waste on the growth and yield of peppers in the field
TL;DR: The vermicomposts were incorporated into the upper 10 cm of soil and supplemented, based on chemical analyses, with amounts of inorganic NPK fertilizers calculated to equalize initially with the rates of 95-95-NK kg/ha applied to the inorganic fertilizer control plots as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of vermicomposts on growth and marketable fruits of field-grown tomatoes, peppers and strawberriesThe 7th international symposium on earthworm ecology · Cardiff · Wales · 2002
Norman Q. Arancon,Clive A. Edwards,Peter M. Bierman,James D. Metzger,Stephen Lee,Christie Welch +5 more
TL;DR: Improvements in plant growth and increases in fruit yields could be due partially to large increases in soil microbial biomass after vermicompost applications, leading to production of hormones or humates in the verMicomposts acting as plant-growth regulators independent of nutrient supply.

Potato Yield and Tuber Set as Affected by Phosphorus Fertilization
Carl J. Rosen,Peter M. Bierman +1 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that P nutrition can play an important role in regulating tuber set and increases in total uptake and tuber P increased as P application rate increased, but differences in uptake were small relative to the amounts of P applied.
