Defining Benchmarks for Transthoracic Esophagectomy: A Multicenter Analysis of Total Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy in Low Risk Patients.
Henner Schmidt,S S Gisbertz,Johnny Moons,Ioannis Rouvelas,Juha Kauppi,Andrew M. Brown,Emanuele Asti,Misha D. P. Luyer,Sjoerd M. Lagarde,Felix Berlth,Annouck Philippron,Christiane Bruns,Arnulf H. Hölscher,Paul M. Schneider,Dimitri A. Raptis,Mark I. van Berge Henegouwen,Philippe Nafteux,Magnus Nilsson,Jari Räsänen,Francesco Palazzo,Ernest L. Rosato,Stuart Mercer,Luigi Bonavina,Grard A. P. Nieuwenhuijzen,Bas P. L. Wijnhoven,Wolfgang Schröder,Piet Pattyn,Peter P. Grimminger,Christian A. Gutschow +28 more
TL;DR: This outcome analysis of patients with low comorbidity undergoing ttMIE may serve as a reference to evaluate surgical performance in major esophageal resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Robot-assisted minimally invasive esophagectomy (RAMIE) compared to conventional minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) for esophageal cancer: a propensity-matched analysis
Evangelos Tagkalos,Lucas Goense,Maria Hoppe-Lotichius,Jelle P. Ruurda,Benjamin Babic,Edin Hadzijusufovic,Werner Kneist,P C van der Sluis,Hauke Lang,R. van Hillegersberg,Peter P. Grimminger +10 more
TL;DR: In this propensity-matched study comparing RAMIE to MIE, ICU stay was significantly shorter in the RAMIE group and there was a trend in improved lymphadenectomy in RAMIE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormalities of CD4 T cell subpopulations in ANCA-associated vasculitis.
Smaragdi Marinaki,Irmgard Neumann,Anna-Isabelle Kälsch,Peter P. Grimminger,Annette Breedijk,Rainer Birck,Wilhelm H. Schmitt,Ruediger Waldherr,Benito A. Yard,F. J. Van Der Woude +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that AAV patients are lymphopenic and have low numbers of CD4+ T cells, which seem to be in a persistent state of activation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anastomotic Techniques and Associated Morbidity in Total Minimally Invasive Transthoracic Esophagectomy: Results from the EsoBenchmark Database
Wolfgang Schröder,Dimitri A. Raptis,Henner Schmidt,Suzanne S. Gisbertz,Johnny Moons,Emanuele Asti,Misha D. P. Luyer,Arnulf H. Hölscher,Paul M. Schneider,Mark I. van Berge Henegouwen,Philippe Nafteux,Magnus Nilsson,Jari Räsänen,Francesco Palazzo,Stuart Mercer,Luigi Bonavina,Grard A. P. Nieuwenhuijzen,Bas P L Wijjnhoven,Piet Pattyn,Peter P. Grimminger,Christiane Bruns,Christian A. Gutschow +21 more
TL;DR: Results of this analysis present the current status of the technical evolution of ttMIE with anastomotic leakage as predominant surgical complication, however, technique-related morbidity requires cautious interpretation considering the long learning curve of this complex surgical procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Persistent T-cell activation and clinical correlations in patients with ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis
Smaragdi Marinaki,Anna-Isabelle Kälsch,Peter P. Grimminger,Annette Breedijk,Rainer Birck,Wilhelm H. Schmitt,Christel Weiss,Fokko J. van der Woude,Benito A. Yard +8 more
TL;DR: Interestingly, patients with a low percentage of CD4+CD45RO- T-cells were significantly more often diagnosed as microscopic polyangiitis, suggesting that PTA was associated with disease severity and higher cumulative cyclophosphamide dose found in these patients.
