Reinvestigation of Phase Transitions in Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 by TEM. Part I: First Order Rhombohedral to Orthorhombic Phase Transition

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the rhombohedral to tetragonal phase transition in Na0.5Bi 0.5TiO3 (NBT) is a two-step process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen positions in single nanocrystals revealed by electron diffraction

TL;DR: The direct localization of hydrogen atoms in nanocrystalline materials is reported using the recently developed approach of dynamical refinement of precession electron diffraction tomography data, which demonstrates that the technique can reliably reveal fine structural details, including the positions of hydrogen atom in single crystals with micro- to nanosized dimensions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure refinement using precession electron diffraction tomography and dynamical diffraction: tests on experimental data.

TL;DR: A large series of tests revealed that the method provides structure models with an average error in atomic positions typically between 0.01 and 0.02 Å, which is significantly more accurate than models obtained by refinement using kinematical approximation for the calculation of model intensities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Absence of long-range Ni/Mn ordering in ferromagnetic La2NiMnO6 thin films

TL;DR: In this paper, a discusion on the presence of Ni/Mn long-range ordering in double perovskites La2NiMnO6 is presented, in light of the recent literature on double-perovskite La2NmO6.

The structural origin of the antiferroelectric properties and relaxor behavior of Na0.5 Bi0.5 TiO3

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the phase transition from rhombohedral to tetragonal phase transition in NBT is in fact a two-step phase transition, with the first order phase transition involving the reconstructive transformation of the rhombohedric phase into an orthorhombic one, through the formation of an intermediate modulated phase.
