Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and characterization of bio-diesels from various bio-oils.

TL;DR: For different esters from the same vegetable oil, methyl esters were the most volatile, and the volatility decreased as the alkyl group grew bulkier, however, the bio-diesels were considerably less volatile than the conventional diesel fuels.

Methods for concentration and extraction of lubricity compounds and biologically active fractions from naturally derived fats, oils and greases

TL;DR: In this article, the triglycerides are transesterified with a lower alcohol to produce alkyl esters, which are then separated from high molecular weight high lubricity compounds and biologically active compounds by distillation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and evaluation of vegetable oil derived biodiesel esters as lubricity additives

TL;DR: In this article, vegetable-oil derived esters using methyl, ethyl, butyl, and 2-propyl alcohols were prepared and tested as diesel fuel lubricity additives in a roller-on-cylinder lubricity evaluator.
