Journal ArticleDOI
The large-scale separation of peroxisomes, mitochondria, and lysosomes from the livers of rats injected with triton WR-1339. Improved isolation procedures, automated analysis, biochemical and morphological properties of fractions.
Federico Leighton,Brian Poole,Henri Beaufay,Pierre Baudhuin,John W. Coffey,Stanley Fowler,Christian de Duve +6 more
TL;DR: Improved, largely automated methods are described for the purification and analysis of peroxisomes, lysosomes, and mitochondria from the livers of rats injected with Triton WR-1339, making more conclusive and precise previous estimates of the biochemical and morphological properties of the three groups of cytoplasmic particles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tissue fractionation studies. 17. Intracellular distribution of monoamine oxidase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, D-amino acid oxidase and catalase in rat-liver tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Participation of lysosomes in cellular autophagy induced in rat liver by glucagon.
TL;DR: The present communication reports the first results of a quantitative morphological study correlating the appearance of autophagic vacuoles with a marked decrease in the number of recognizable dense bodies present in particulate fractions separated from hepatic homogenates 45 min after glucagon injection.
