Hippocampal‐amygdalo‐ventricular atrophy score: Alzheimer disease detection using normative and pathological lifespan models

TL;DR: An innovative MRI‐based method for Alzheimer disease detection and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) prognostic, using lifespan trajectories of brain structures, which demonstrated better classification performance and HAVAs simplicity makes it fully understandable and thus well‐suited for clinical practice or future pharmaceutical trials.
Book ChapterDOI

Graph of Hippocampal Subfields Grading for Alzheimer’s Disease Prediction

TL;DR: This work proposes a graph-based representation of the hippocampal subfields alterations based on patch-based grading feature and shows that this approach obtains similar results than state-of-the-art approaches based on whole-brain analysis with improving by 4 percent points of accuracy patch- based grading methods based on hippocampus.
Book ChapterDOI

Adaptive fusion of texture-based grading: Application to Alzheimer's disease detection

TL;DR: The potential using texture information based on Gabor filters to improve patch-based grading method performance, with a focus on the hippocampal structure is studied and a novel fusion framework to efficiently combine multiple grading maps derived from a Gabor filter bank is proposed.

Towards broader generalization of deep learning methods for multiple sclerosis lesion segmentation.

TL;DR: DeepLesionBrain improves the segmentation performance and generalization over classical techniques, and thus proposes a robust approach better suited for clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Distinct Hippocampal Subfields Atrophy in Older People With Vascular Brain Injuries.

TL;DR: The study of hippocampal regional vulnerability may provide important insights into the pathop... as discussed by the authors, which may help to understand how neurological or psychiatric diseases affect the hippocampus during aging, and may also provide insights into how to prevent Alzheimer's disease.
