Stability analysis of simply-supported rectangular plates under non-uniform uniaxial compression using rigorous and approximate plane stress solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the non-classical problem of buckling of a simply-supported rectangular plate due to various types of non-uniform compressive edge loads is analyzed and the elasticity solution for the internal in-plane stress field is obtained rigorously using a superposition of Airy's stress functions and also approximately using extended Kantorovich method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Free vibration analysis of thin functionally graded rectangular plates using the dynamic stiffness method

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamic stiffness method (DSM) was used to analyze the free vibration behavior of thin functionally graded rectangular plates by using classical plate theory along with the concept of physical neutral surface of the functionally graded plate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of dynamic stiffness method for accurate free vibration analysis of sigmoid and exponential functionally graded rectangular plates

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamic stiffness method (DSM) is implemented to investigate free vibration behavior of thin rectangular functionally graded material (FGM) plate with the sigmoid (S-FGM), and exponential (E-FMG) property variations along its thickness direction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytical solutions for buckling of rectangular plates under non-uniform biaxial compression or uniaxial compression with in-plane lateral restraint

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of a non-uniform distribution of the applied edge loads on their net critical value with reference to the title problem is examined, and the results highlight the influence of various nonuniform distributions as well as an in-plane restraint at the lateral edges.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Banpur-Balugaon and Bolangir Anorthosite Diapirs of the Eastern Ghats, India: Implications for the Massif Anorthosite Problem

TL;DR: In this paper, two anorthosite massifs in the Eastern Ghats share similar structural constitutions, internal differentiation histories, and overall thermal-tectonic patterns of evolution.
