Integrated phytobial remediation for sustainable management of arsenic in soil and water.

TL;DR: The review identifies one critical research gap on the importance of remediation of As contaminated groundwater not only for drinking purpose but also for irrigation purpose and stresses that more research should be conducted on the use of constructed wetland, one of the most suitable areas of application of phytobial remediation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Halomonas Rhizobacteria of Avicennia marina of Indian Sundarbans Promote Rice Growth Under Saline and Heavy Metal Stresses Through Exopolysaccharide Production.

TL;DR: The Halomonas species isolated from the rhizosphere of the true mangrove Avicennia marina of Indian Sundarbans showed enhanced rice growth promotion under combined stress of salt and arsenic in pot assay and direct role of exopolysaccharide in plant growth promotion was confirmed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytoremediation potential of rhizobacterial isolates from Kans grass (Saccharum spontaneum) of fly ash ponds

TL;DR: Among a collection of phosphate-solubilizing bacterial strains isolated from the rhizosphere of Saccharum spontaneum present in the abandoned ash pond site of Mejia Thermal Power Station, three strains were characterized for their plant growth-promoting abilities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Remediation of Fly Ash Dumpsites Through Bioenergy Crop Plantation and Generation: A Review

TL;DR: In this paper, a review summarizes the development of bioenergy plantations and silviculture at fly ash dumpsites with an integrated phyto-bio-rhizo-mycoremediation approach and assesses utilization of the valuable biomass for thermal energy, electricity, and biofuel generation with inclusion of a SWOT analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arsenic Bioremediation by Indigenous Heavy Metal Resistant Bacteria of Fly Ash Pond

TL;DR: Column leaching based microcosm study revealed overall As detoxification potential of the isolated microbes and showed that FA was enriched with As resistant heterotrophs, indicating bioremediation potential of indigenous As resistant bacteria present in the weathered pond ash sample.
