PurposeThis study aims to present a retrospective of the Journal of Research in Interactive Marketing (JRIM) on its 15th anniversary. The retrospective includes an analysis of JRIM's growth in publication and citation, and an exploration of the journal's major themes and methodologies employed.Design/methodology/approachThis study used a bibliometric methodology consisting of analytical techniques such as performance analysis, co-authorship network analysis, and bibliographic coupling to present a retrospective of JRIM.FindingsThis study finds that JRIM has grown consistently in terms of its publications and citations with its major themes being social media, advertising and communication, technology adoption, customer behavior, multi-channel marketing, viral marketing, and relationship marketing. This study also reveals that the journal's contributing authors tend to employ empirical and quantitative methodologies.Originality/valueThis is the first study to present a retrospective of JRIM and one of the few that present a retrospective of interactive marketing. Besides presenting the major themes, this study also analyzes the growth that such themes have undergone with time and what are the major themes in recent times in relation to the body of knowledge on interactive marketing curated through JRIM.

A decision-making framework for Industry 4.0 technology implementation: The case of FinTech and sustainable supply chain finance for SMEs

The unanticipated coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has hit global business heavily, disrupting the management of human resources across numerous industries. More than 500 articles (indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science) on the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on emerging human resources issues and related practices were published from 1 January 2020 to 31 January 2021. In this study, we conduct a systematic literature review on emerging studies in the business and management field to explore what the emerging human resource issues are during the COVID-19 pandemic and propose related practices to solve these issues. The analysis of the published literature identifies nine main human resource issues across 13 industries. The findings of this study suggest that COVID-19 has enormous impact on conventional human resource management and requires the theoretical and empirical attention of researchers. The propositions nominate related human resource practices to deal with emerging human resources issues and identify several research venues for future studies in this field.

Risk Management: Exploring Emerging Human Resource Issues during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Past, present and future of bank marketing: a bibliometric analysis of International Journal of Bank Marketing (1983–2020)

Abstract The Journal of Advertising (JA) is a leading journal devoted to the development of advertising theory and practice. In celebration of JA’s 50th anniversary, this article presents an in-depth retrospective of the journal and compares it with the other leading advertising journals, such as Journal of Advertising Research (JAR), International Journal of Advertising (IJA), and Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising (JCIRA). To do so, this article conducts a bibliometric review using performance analysis and natural language processing (NLP) as a means for co-word analysis on bibliometric information retrieved from Scopus. Using performance analysis, this article demonstrates that JA is the leading advertising journal in terms of research influence (h-index) and impact (g-index), as the journal receives the highest average and total citations despite publishing 11% less than its closest peers (JAR and IJA). Using NLP as a means for co-word analysis, this article reveals eight clusters or themes (1972–2020) that avail in JA’s body of knowledge (i.e., advertising appeals, advertising involvement, advertising credibility, advertising brands, advertising impact, advertising modeling and strategies, advertising communication and engagement, and advertising response) as well as nine clusters or themes (2000–2020) that reflect the four leading advertising journals’ collective contributions to the body of advertising knowledge (i.e., community advertising, responsible advertising, digital and social media advertising, product placement advertising, advertising impact, advertising credibility and persuasiveness, gamification and signaling in advertising, sponsorship advertising, and attitudes toward advertising). The article concludes with key takeaways and suggestions for prospective authors interested to publish in JA.

The influence of HR policies on work performance and achievement of organisational goals are established in the literature and continues to gain importance. However, the key motivators for driving work performance amid exigencies by utilising HR policies effectively for meeting the employees' expectations and organisational goals remain largely untapped. Using aspects of HR policies namely- compensation and benefits, leadership communication competency, flexible work practices, use of tech tools and physical work environment for employees amid medical exigency situation on a global level, the present study examines the key motivators of driving work performance during COVID-19 crisis. Compensation and benefits, flexible work practices, communication competency of leaders appeared to have the strongest influence on work performance. The paper is an attempt to sensitise the employers, so that they are prepared well in advance to bring out the best amid crisis like pandemic COVID-19.

Key motivators for driving work performance amid COVID-19 in developing nations

Generation Z, the youngest generation has a new set of workplace expectations, presenting an amalgam of challenges and opportunities for employers in India. Emergence and proliferation of Generation Z as newest workplace employees necessitate further research on employee engagement. Those who can comprehensibly engage Generation Z employees will be able to strengthen their future by building a valuable road map. IT companies of India are looking for ways to fully engage this new influx of young demographic dividend. Much has been researched about Millennials, but there is limited evidence on how to engage the upcoming Generation Z employees for effective results. In corporating structural equation modelling on 209 employees, this paper came up with the finding that job crafting offered to Generation Z employees has a positive and significant impact on employee engagement. However, job crafting did not produce any significant impact on affective commitment, a unique finding that exemplifies the pandemic crisis. The model offers a logical ground suggesting that job crafting is a strong predictor of employee engagement in the Indian IT sector in context of the newest generation of workers. The implications for theory and practice as well as its limitations and future research directions conclude the paper.
