Compressive failure of notched carbon fibre composites

TL;DR: In this article, the compressive fracture properties of carbon fiber/epoxy laminates were investigated in terms of existing theories of strength, and it was found that compressive failure is governed by plastic microbuckling of the 0° plies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compressive Failure of Laminated and Woven Composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of fiber architecture upon the compressive failure mechanisms was investigated for a wide range of fiber composites. But the results were limited to the case of T800 carbon fiber-924C epoxy laminates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hole-hole interaction in carbon fibre/epoxy laminates under uniaxial compression

TL;DR: In this paper, the static compressive response of T800/924C carbon fiber/epoxy laminates containing a single or two circular holes is described, and a two-dimensional finite element analysis is used to study the interaction effect between a pair of 5 mm diameter holes as a function of hole spacing.
