Effects of antioxidant supplementation on postprandial oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction: a single-blind, 15-day clinical trial in patients with untreated type 2 diabetes, subjects with impaired glucose tolerance, and healthy controls.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the use of anti-oxidants may have decreased oxidative stress in patients with early-stage, untreated type 2 diabetes mellitus and those with IGT, but these postprandial changes were reverse in all subjects after 15 days of standard antioxidant supplementation.

Randomized clinical trial to compare the effects of methadone and buprenorphine on the immune system in drug abusers

TL;DR: Buprenorphine can be a valid alternative to methadone in maintenance treatment of chronic heroin abuse and referred a marked decline in depression, and elevated cytokine levels observed may suggest that the two drugs stimulate immunologic hyperactivation of an immune system that was formerly inhibited by heroin.

Oxidative stress, nitric oxide, endothelial dysfunction and tinnitus

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated whether pathogenic endothelial dysfunction is involved in acute idiopathic tinnitus in 44 patients and 25 healthy volunteers, and they found higher plasma concentrations of oxidative markers and L-arginine, and lower nitric oxide and Lornitine levels were observed in the internal jugular vein and brachial vein.
