Stacking sequence optimization of composite laminates for maximum buckling load using permutation search algorithm

TL;DR: In this article, a permutation search (PS) algorithm was proposed to reduce the evaluations in stacking sequence optimization of composite laminates, where permutation operations were sequentially performed for each permutation position, and in the second stage a repair strategy was adopted for overcoming the violation of constraints while maximizing the value of the objective function.
Journal ArticleDOI

A statistically consistent fatigue damage model based on Miner’s rule

TL;DR: In this paper, a statistically consistent fatigue damage model under constant and variable amplitude loadings based on linear Miner's rule is proposed, which can quantitatively depict the probabilistic properties of fatigue damage and life.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of thermally grown oxide on multiple surface cracking in air plasma sprayed thermal barrier coating system

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of TGO thickness on the strain energy release rate (SERR) was investigated in an air plasma sprayed (APS) thermal barrier coating system (TBCs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic mechanical behavior of 6061 al alloy at elevated temperatures and different strain rates

TL;DR: In this article, the compressive stress-strain relationship of 6061Al alloy over wide temperatures and strain rates is investigated and the dynamic impact experiments are performed using an improved high temperature split Hopkinson pressure bar apparatus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sequential permutation table method for optimization of stacking sequence in composite laminates

TL;DR: In this article, a stacking-sequence optimization method for composite laminates using a multicriteria objective function with buckling, strength and continuity constraint subject to in-plane normal compressive loads is presented.
