Journal ArticleDOI
The tight calorie control study (TICACOS): a prospective, randomized, controlled pilot study of nutritional support in critically ill patients
Pierre Singer,Pierre Singer,R. Anbar,R. Anbar,Jonathan Cohen,Jonathan Cohen,Haim Shapiro,Michal Shalita-Chesner,Shaul Lev,Shaul Lev,Elad Grozovski,Elad Grozovski,Miryam Theilla,S. Frishman,Zecharia Madar +14 more
TL;DR: In this single-center pilot study a bundle comprising actively supervised nutritional intervention and providing near target energy requirements based on repeated energy measurements was achievable in a general ICU and may be associated with lower hospital mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 fatty acids in critical illness: novel mechanisms and an integrative perspective
TL;DR: It remains to be shown whether these pleiotropic actions of EPA/DHA contribute to fish oil’s therapeutic effect in sepsis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pierre Singer,R. Anbar,Jonathan Cohen,Haim Shapiro,Michal Shatlita-Chesner,Shaul Lev,Elad Grozovski,Miryam Theilla,S. Frishman,Zecharia Madar +9 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparing the adequacy of the MNA-SF, NRS-2002 and MUST nutritional tools in assessing malnutrition in hip fracture operated elderly patients.
Tamar Koren-Hakim,Avraham Weiss,Avraham Weiss,Avital Hershkovitz,Irena Otzrateni,R. Anbar,Revital Feige Gross Nevo,Revital Feige Gross Nevo,Agata Schlesinger,Agata Schlesinger,S. Frishman,Moshe Salai,Moshe Salai,Yichayaou Beloosesky,Yichayaou Beloosesky +14 more
TL;DR: All screening tools were adequate in assessing malnutrition parameters in hip fracture operated elderly patients, however, only the MNA-SF could also predict readmissions and mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tight calorie control in geriatric patients following hip fracture decreases complications: a randomized, controlled study.
R. Anbar,R. Anbar,Yichayaou Beloosesky,J Cohen,Zecharia Madar,Avraham Weiss,Miryam Theilla,T. Koren Hakim,S. Frishman,Pierre Singer +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that nutritional support actively supervised by a dietician and guided by repeated measurements of REE was achievable and improved outcomes in geriatric patients following surgery for hip fractures.
