Journal ArticleDOI
The analysis of projected fission track lengths
TL;DR: In this article, the authors deal with the question of how features of the thermal history can be estimated from projected track length measurements, i.e., lengths of the remaining parts of tracks that have intersected a surface, projected onto that surface.
Journal ArticleDOI
Some remarks on fission-track observational biases and crystallographic orientation effects
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of orientation bias can be avoided by modeling confined track length conditional on angle to the c axis, without introducing arbitrary assumptions, by modeling the track length as a logarithm.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the mis-use of mathematics: a comment on "How confident are we about the chronology of the transition between Howieson's Poort and Still Bay?" by Guérin et al (2013).
Journal ArticleDOI
Statistical properties of semi-tracks in fission track analysis
Geoff M. Laslett,R.F. Galbraith +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented formulae and calculations for semi-tracks corresponding to those for projected tracks given in Laslett et al. (1994) and showed that there is a substantial gain in precision from measuring semi-track rather than projected tracks.
