Journal ArticleDOI

The non-histone proteins of chromatin, their isolation and composition in a number of tissues.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the non-histone proteins which remain tightly bound to DNA in chromatin are of the same approximate size as the basic histones.
Book ChapterDOI

[12] Methods for isolation and characterization of chromosomal nonhistone proteins: Fractionation of chromatin on hydroxyapatite and characterization of the nonhistone proteins by ion exchange chromatography and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis

TL;DR: In this article, the ability of hydroxyapatite to act as an ion exchange medium for macromolecules in the presence of high ionic strength and urea, yielding high recoveries of chromatin constituents.
