Journal ArticleDOI

The use of the PMI/mannose selection system to recover transgenic sweet orange plants ( Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck)

TL;DR: This system provides an efficient manner for selecting transgenic sweet orange plants without using antibiotics or herbicides and was developed in which positive selection based on the Escherichia coli phosphomannose-isomerase gene and mannose as the selective agent was used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic transformation and plant recovery from mature tissues of Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck

TL;DR: A protocol for adventitious organogenesis and genetic transformation of sweet orange varieties ( Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) using as explants internodal segments from adult plants maintained in the greenhouse is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transformação genética de laranja 'Hamlin' via Agrobacterium

TL;DR: Epicotyl segments were adequate explants for transformation, regenerating plants by direct organogenesis, and genetic transformation was confirmed by performing b-glucoronidase (GUS) assays and, subsequently, by PCR amplification for the nptII and GUS genes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Phaseolus vulgaris QTL in controlling host-bacteria interactions under two levels of nitrogen fertilization

TL;DR: Four QTL were associated with both the number of Rhizobium nodules and resistance to Xanthomonas, suggesting a common genetic control of responses to bacterial infections in the common bean, despite the dramatic environmental interactions noted with some QTL.
