Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion inhibition by naturally occurringsubstances—I. The effect of Hibiscus subdariffa (karkade) extract on the dissolution of Al and Zn
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the thermometric, the weight-loss and the galvanostatic polarization techniques to establish the inhibition of the dissolution of Al and Zn in HCl and NaOH by different concentrations of aqueous extract of Hibiscus subdariffa (Karkade).
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion Inhibition by Naturally Occurring Substances: VII. The effect of aqueous extracts of some leaves and fruit-peels on the corrosion of steel, Al, Zn and Cu in acids
TL;DR: In this paper, aqueous extracts of Opuntia ficus indica and Aloe eru (leaves) and of Orange, Mango and Pomegranate (fruit-peels) on the corrosion of mild steel, aluminium, zinc and copper in HCl and H2SO4 solutions were investigated by means of weight loss and polarisation measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficiency of organic acids and their anions in retarding the dissolution of aluminium
R.M. Saleh,A.M. Shams El Din +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of a number of aliphatic, aromatic and amino acids, as well as of their anions, on the dissolution of Al in 2N HC1 and in 1·5N NaOH was studied by the thermometric method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion inhibition by naturally occurring substances-IX. The effect of the aqueous extracts of some seeds, leaves, fruits and fruit-peels on the corrosion of Al in NaOH
Journal ArticleDOI
Peculiarities in the Behaviour of Thiourea as corrosion‐inhibitor
TL;DR: The dissolution of Fe, cu, Zn and Al in nitric, hydrochlorid and sulfuric acids is retarded by low concentrations of thiourea, while higher concentrations may bring about a stimulation of corrosion.
