Journal ArticleDOI
The human ribosomal RNA genes: structure and organization of the complete repeating unit
J. E. Sylvester,David A.H. Whiteman,R. Podolsky,Judith M. Pozsgay,J. Respess,R. D. Schmickel +5 more
TL;DR: The analysis of spacer DNA by molecular cloning and its organization in the genome by Southern transfer analysis reveal both length and sequence variation of the spacer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elevated spermidine serum levels in mild cognitive impairment, a potential biomarker of progression to Alzheimer dementia, a pilot study
Zohara Sternberg,R. Podolsky,Adam Nir,Jihnhee Yu,Raphael Nir,Stanley W. Halvorsen,Joseph F. Quinn,Jeffrey Kaye,Channa Kolb +8 more
TL;DR: Sternberg et al. as discussed by the authors measured Spermidine levels in frozen serum samples of 43 AD patients, 12 MCI patients, and 21 age-matched controls, using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Delayed Decline of Cognitive Function by Antihypertensive Agents: A Cohort Study Linked with Genotype Data
TL;DR: The use of antihypertensive drugs was associated with 21% (Hazard ratio: 0.79, p<01001) delay in the rate of conversion to MCI, and combination of α1-AB and diuretics led to synergistic effects; combination of vasodilators plus β-blockers (βBs) led to additive effect in delaying the rates of MCI conversion, when compared to a single drug.
