Alpha-Amylase and Alpha-Glucosidase Enzyme Inhibition and Antioxidant Potential of 3-Oxolupenal and Katononic Acid Isolated from Nuxia oppositifolia
Ali S Alqahtani,Syed Hidayathulla,Tabish Rehman,Ali A. El-Gamal,Shaza M. Al-Massarani,Valentina Razmovski-Naumovski,Mohammed S. Alqahtani,Rabab A. El Dib,Mohamed F. Alajmi +8 more
TL;DR: Preliminary data for the plant’s use in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus is provided and results suggest that 3-oxolupenal and katononic acid have a good affinity towards both α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Docking and Anticonvulsant Activity of Newly Synthesized Quinazoline Derivatives.
Hatem A. Abuelizz,Rabab A. El Dib,Rabab A. El Dib,Mohamed A. Marzouk,Mohamed A. Marzouk,El Hassane Anouar,Yousreya A. Maklad,Hanan Naeim Attia,Rashad Al-Salahi +8 more
TL;DR: The studied quinazoline analogues suggested that the butyl substitution at position 3 has a significant effect on preventing the spread of seizure discharge and on raising the seizure threshold, however, benzyl substituted at position3 has shown a strong anticonvulsant activity but with less seizure prevention compared to thebutyl substitution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polyphenolic profile and bioactivity study of oenothera speciosa nutt. aerial parts
Mohamed Marzouk,Fatma A. Moharram,Rabab A. El Dib,Siham M. El-Shenawy,Ahmed F. Tawfike,Ahmed F. Tawfike +5 more
TL;DR: The investigated extract exhibited significant antihyperglycaemic and anti-inflammatory activities in a dose dependant manner and showed potent antioxidant activity in vitro using 1,1-diphenyl 2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical assay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial Activity of New 2-Thioxo-benzo[g]quinazolin-4(3H)-one Derivatives
TL;DR: Many of the investigated compounds showed potent activity against all tested microbial species, and provided a foundation for the synthesized compounds to serve as a platform for further design and development of more potent antimicrobial agents.
