Journal ArticleDOI
Placental growth factor testing for suspected pre-eclampsia: a cost-effectiveness analysis.
Kate E. Duhig,Paul T. Seed,Jenny Myers,Rachna Bahl,Gabrielle Bambridge,Sonia Barnfield,Jo Ficquet,Joanna Girling,Asma Khalil,Asma Khalil,Andrew Shennan,Lucy C Chappell,Rachael Hunter +12 more
TL;DR: To calculate the cost‐effectiveness of implementing PlGF testing alongside a clinical management algorithm in maternity services in the UK, compared with current standard care, a cost-effectiveness estimate was calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical and cost effectiveness of staff training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for treating challenging behaviour in adults with intellectual disability: a cluster randomised controlled trial
Angela Hassiotis,Andre Strydom,Mike J. Crawford,Ian Hall,Rumana Z Omar,Victoria Vickerstaff,Rachael Hunter,Jason Crabtree,Vivien Cooper,Asit K. Biswas,William Howie,Michael King +11 more
TL;DR: The study findings will have significant implications for the delivery of PBS in community based services with the potential for reducing inpatient admissions and out-of-area placements for adults with intellectual disability and challenging behaviour.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomised controlled trial of gradual antipsychotic reduction and discontinuation in people with schizophrenia and related disorders: the RADAR trial (Research into Antipsychotic Discontinuation and Reduction).
Joanna Moncrieff,Glyn Lewis,Nick Freemantle,Sonia Johnson,Thomas R. E. Barnes,Nicola Morant,Vanessa Pinfold,Rachael Hunter,Lyn J Kent,Ruth Smith,Katherine Darton,Rob Horne,Nadia Crellin,Ruth E. Cooper,Louise Marston,Stefan Priebe +15 more
TL;DR: This is a multicentre, randomised controlled trial involving people with schizophrenia and related disorders who have had more than one episode and aims to detect a minimum 10% difference in severe relapse, which requires 402 participants, assuming a 15% loss to follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI
Costs of vitamin D testing and prescribing among children in primary care.
TL;DR: There has been a large increase in healthcare expenditure on vitamin D tests and prescriptions for children in primary care in England over the past decade, and screening of vitamin D status in children without specific risk factors or clinical features of deficiency may represent avoidable healthcare expenditure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positive behaviour support training for staff for treating challenging behaviour in people with intellectual disabilities: a cluster RCT.
Angela Hassiotis,Michaela Poppe,Andre Strydom,Victoria Vickerstaff,Ian Hall,Jason Crabtree,Rumana Z Omar,Michael King,Rachael Hunter,Alessandro Bosco,Asit K. Biswas,Victoria Ratti,Jessica Blickwedel,Vivien Cooper,William Howie,Mike J. Crawford +15 more
TL;DR: Findings from the main study and the naturalistic follow-up suggest that staff training in PBS as delivered in this study is insufficient to achieve significant clinical gains beyond TAU in community ID services.
