Pyroelectric conversion cycles

TL;DR: The effect of the type of power cycle upon the amount of output electrical work for a pyroelectric converter has been measured in this paper, and the effect of changes in the voltage cycle limits and load resistance were also studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pyroelectric conversion cycle of vinylidene fluoride‐trifluoroethylene copolymer

TL;DR: The first pyroelectric conversion cycle for the copolymer P(VDF-TrFE) was reported in this paper, whose output electric energy density was 30 mJ/cm3.
Journal ArticleDOI

A pyroelectric energy converter which employs regeneration

TL;DR: In this article, a single-stage regenerative pyroelectric heat engine has been built and tested and the efficiency of the conversion process was directly measured (the first such measurement for any pyro-electric conversion process) The measured 4% efficiency is 16 times larger than the van der Ziel limit.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cascaded pyroelectric energy converter

TL;DR: In this paper, a regenerative pyroelectric converter employing multiple staging has been constructed and tested, operating between the temperatures of 150°C and 180°C, which converted heat into electrical energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

High electric field resistivity and pyroelectric properties of vinylidene fluoride‐trifluoroethylene copolymer

TL;DR: In this paper, the first measurements of high (constant) field pyroelectric effects of P(VDF-TrFE) copolymers were reported, and the resistivity and displacement changes were measured for thermal cycling from room temperature to 90°C at fields up to 1 MV/cm.
