TL;DR: In this article, a comparative case study of two processes that ran in the UK in 2019 (the Leeds Climate Change Citizens' Jury and the Oxford Citizens’ Assembly on Climate Change), investigates how far citizen assemblies and juries are increasing citizen engagement on climate change and creating more citizen-centred climate policymaking.

Citizens’ Assemblies and Juries on Climate Change: Lessons from Their Use in Practice

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that CAJ is not a panacea to public participation on climate change and much more needs to be done beyond them, such as agreement on implementation and follow-up procedures to ensure CAJ legitimately inform policymaking.
