Implementing the Water Framework Directive in overseas Europe: A multimetric macroinvertebrate index for river bioassessment in Caribbean islands
Heliott Touron-Poncet,Heliott Touron-Poncet,Caroline Bernadet,Caroline Bernadet,Arthur Compin,Arthur Compin,Nicolas Bargier,Régis Céréghino,Régis Céréghino +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a macroinvertebrate-based multimetric index (IBMA) was designed to assess ecological health in rivers of Martinique and Guadeloupe, two densely populated islands in the Lesser Antilles (Caribbean Sea).
Journal ArticleDOI
An ant–plant mutualism induces shifts in the protist community structure of a tank-bromeliad
Jean-François Carrias,Olivier Brouard,Céline Leroy,Régis Céréghino,Régis Céréghino,Laurent Pélozuelo,Laurent Pélozuelo,Alain Dejean,Alain Dejean,Bruno Corbara +9 more
TL;DR: Variations in detritus content, number of leaves, incident radiation, and the epiphyte richness of the ant-garden were the main factors explaining the variation in protist richness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ant species diversity in the 'Grands Causses' (Aveyron, France): In search of sampling methods adapted to temperate climates.
Sarah Groc,Jacques H. C. Delabie,Régis Céréghino,Jérôme Orivel,Frédéric Jaladeau,Julien Grangier,Cléa dos Santos Ferreira Mariano,Alain Dejean,Alain Dejean +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the applicability of using a combination of four sampling methods (i.e., Winkler extractors, pitfall traps, baiting and manual collection) to create an inventory of ant species diversity in temperate environments was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Litter-dwelling ants as bioindicators to gauge the sustainability of small arboreal monocultures embedded in the Amazonian rainforest
Sarah Groc,Jacques H. C. Delabie,Fernando Fernández,Frédéric Petitclerc,Bruno Corbara,Maurice Leponce,Régis Céréghino,Alain Dejean,Alain Dejean +8 more
TL;DR: This study shows that small monospecific stands are likely sustainable when embedded in the rainforest and that environmentally-friendly strategies can be planned accordingly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ant species identity mediates reproductive traits and allocation in an ant-garden bromeliad.
Céline Leroy,Bruno Corbara,Bruno Corbara,Laurent Pélozuelo,Jean-François Carrias,Jean-François Carrias,Alain Dejean,Alain Dejean,Régis Céréghino +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that mutualistic associations with ants can result in an enhanced reproductive allocation for the bromeliad A. mertensii and the strength and direction of the selection of floral and fruit traits change based on the ant species and were not related to light exposure.
