The present invention relates to a process for producing a polyolefin with improved surface hardness and scratch resistance, and to the use of such polyolefin. More specifically, the invention relates to a process for producing a polyolefin on the basis of a polypropylene matrix material including bimodal rubber compositions.

Polyolefin with improved scratch resistance and process for producing the same

Polypropylene composition comprising (a) a high melt strength polypropylene having a melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) of equal or below 15 g/lOmin and a branching index g' of below 1.0, (b) a first heterophasic propylene copolymer comprising a polypropylene having a melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) in the range of 50 to 500 g/lOmin and an elastomeric propylene copolymer having a propylene content in the range of 50 to 80 wt.-% and an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of equal or more than 2.5 dl/g, (c) a second heterophasic propylene copolymer comprising a random propylene copolymer having a melt flow rate MFR2 (230 °C) in the range of 1 to 40 g/lOmin, a branching index g' of 1.0, and a comonomer content of more than 0.5 wt.-%,and an elastomeric propylene copolymer having a propylene content in the range of 50 to 80 wt.-%, and an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of equal or below 2.4 dl/g, (d) a polyethylene plastomer having an ethylene content of at least 50 wt.-%, and (e) a mineral filler (F).

Stiff polypropylene composition with excellent elongation at break

Polyolefin compositions comprising (percent by weight): 1) 55-80% of a crystalline propylene homopolymer or copolymer containing up to 15% of ethylene and/or C4-C10 α-olefin(s) and having an MFR value of at least 15 g/10 min, and 2) 2) 20-45 wt% of a copolymer of ethylene with one or more C4-C10 α-olefin(s) containing from 10 to 4 wt% of said C4-C10 α-olefin(s). The said compositions have values of MFR equal to or higher than 15 g/10 min, a total content of ethylene of 20% or more, a total content of C4-C10 α-olefin(s) of 4.5% or more, a ratio of the total content of ethylene to the total content of C4-C10 α-olefin(s) of 2.3 or more, and an intrinsic viscosity value of the fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature of 1.7 dl/g or less.

the heterophasic polypropylene compositions having a total MFR 2 (230° C./2.16 kg) in accordance with ISO 1133 of ≧5 g/10 min, a Charpy notched impact strength according to ISO 179/1eA at +23° C. of ≧15.0 kJ/m 2 , preferably ≧25.0 kJ/m 2 , a minimum value for the Charpy notched impact strength according to ISO 179/1eA at −20° C. of ≧7.0 kJ/m 2 , preferably ≧10.0 kJ/m 2 and a tensile modulus according to ISO 527-3 of ≧1200 MPa; their preparation and use for producing injection moulded articles being free of flow marks.

Heterophasic polypropylene copolymer composition

The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a polyolefin base resin comprising (A) a propylene homopolymer with a MWD of 1.5 to 5.0, and (B) an ethylene copolymer with one or more comonomers selected from alpha-olefins with 4 to 12 carbon atoms, having a density of not greater than 920 kg/m3 wherein the polyolefin base resin has a weight ratio of propylene homopolymer (A) to ethylene copolymer (B) from 95:5 to 60:40, the use of such a polymer composition for the manufacture of an injection molded article, an article produced from such a polymer composition, an article with a grained surface structure produced from such a polymer composition showing having a scratch resistance, determined as the difference of the luminance ΔL at a load of 10 N, of not more than 1 and a gloss at an angle of 60° of not more than 2.8%, and the use of a polymer composition for the production of such an article.

Low emission polymer composition

The invnetion provides a heterophasic propylene polymer composition comprising the following components: i) 60 to 90 % wt, relative to the total weight of components i), ii) and iii), of a propylene polymer matrix comprising a propylene homopolymer and, optionally a propylene copolymer, said propylene polymer matrix having an ethylene content of no more then 5 % wt; ii) 5 to 30 % wt, relative to the total weight of components i), ii) and iii), of an elastomer; and iii) 5 to 25 % wt, relative to the total weight of components i), ii) and iii), of an ethylene copolymer plastomer having a density of not more than 910 kg/m3 and a melt flow rate MFR?2.16? (190 °C) of at least 0.5 g/10 minutes at 190 °C under a weight of 2.16 kg.
