Rare earth-cobalt permanent magnets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of the development of rare earth-cobalt-based permanent magnets from basic science studies on rare earth transition metal alloys in the 1960's to today's broad spectrum of commercial magnet types and their applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rare Earth‐Cobalt Permanent Magnets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of the development of rare earth-cobalt-based permanent magnets from basic science studies on rare earth transition metal alloys in the 1960's to today's broad spectrum of commercial magnet types and their applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of geometry on magnetization distortion in closed-circuit magnetic measurements

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of specimen geometry on magnetization distortion in closed-circuit measurements is reported, and the distortion can reduce the magnetization values as much as 42% when the applied magnetic field is 24kOe and the ratio of length to diameter (L/D ) of specimen decreases.

A Survey of the Current State-of-the-Art in High-Energy-Product Permanent Magnets

TL;DR: The current state-of-the-art of high energy permanent magnets (HEPM, with (BH max) > or = 10MGOe) was surveyed to inform design engineers about presently available magnetic material types as discussed by the authors.
