Keggin-type polyoxometalate-based ionic liquid gels

Sulphated mesoporous La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 composite oxides (SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 ) were firstly prepared by a surfactant-assisted co-precipitation/hydrothermal crystallization with subsequent impregnation method (SACPHC-IM). The prepared SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 catalyst was employed as solid acid to catalyze direct alkenylation of p -xylene with phenylacetylene for clean production of α -arylstyrene. Various characterization techniques such as N 2 adsorption–desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR, NH 3 temperature-programmed desorption (NH 3 -TPD), and pyridine-IR were employed to reveal the relationship between catalyst nature and catalytic performance. The as-prepared SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 catalyst shows much superior catalytic activity and similar selectivity to SO 4 2− / meso -ZrO 2 , ascribed to increasing acid properties, enlarging specific surface area and increasing pore volume, reducing average crystalline size resulting from the promoting effect of adding La into ZrO 2 matrix. Furthermore, the SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 catalysts were optimized by varying the atomic ratio of La/(La + Zr) from 0.05 to 0.2. The SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 catalyst with the 0.1 of optimum La/(La + Zr) atomic ratio exhibited excellent catalytic performance, ascribed to the increase in amount acid sites and pore size. The results for stability test demonstrated that close to 100% of maximum conversion can be achieved, and more than 80% of conversion can be maintained with the time on stream up to 780 min. Through simple calcination treatment, the spent catalyst can be almost complete recovered. The developed SO 4 2− / meso -La 2 O 3 –ZrO 2 catalyst could be a potential candidate for α-arylstyrene production via acid catalyzed direct alkenylation of aromatics with phenylacetylene.

Sulphated mesoporous La2O3–ZrO2 composite oxide as an efficient and reusable solid acid catalyst for alkenylation of aromatics with phenylacetylene

Monodisperse mesoporous silica nanospheres (MSN) have been emerging as one of the new frontiers in materials science and nanotechnology because of their potential medical and biological applications as well as heterogeneous catalysis. Although the synthesis of MSN with various morphologies and sphere size has been reported, the synthesis of MSN with monodisperse control below 200 nm by a facile, scalable and low-cost method with high tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) concentration still remains a challenge. Herein, this goal was achieved by a templating hydrothermal technique using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as the templating surfactant and low-cost urea as mineralizing agent. The mesoporous feature and diameter of nanosphere of MSN can be efficiently adjusted. The high volume efficiency by using high TEOS concentration as Si sources and the low production cost by using urea as mineralizing agent for synthesizing MSN allow this novel technique to have great potential for industrial production. Furthermore, the advanced solid acid catalysts with superior catalytic activity and stability were prepared by supporting phosphotungstic acid (PTA) on MSN, ascribed to the high PTA dispersity and facilitated mass transfer by the short mesoporous channels in comparison with traditional mesoporous silica like MCM-41. This work presents an alternative method for overcoming low stability issue, a bottleneck problem for the industrial application of solid acid catalysts.

Direct alkenylation of aromatics with phenylacetylene over supported H3PW12O40 catalysts as a clean and highly efficient approach to producing α-arylstyrenes

The invention relates to a new synthesis process of 1-amino-2-acetylanthraquinone and derivatives thereof, belonging to the technical field of fine chemical industry.3-methyl(H, ethyl, propyl, alkyl or hydroxy with different chain lengths)-anthraquinone[1,2-c]-isooxazole is used as the raw material; water, acidic water solution, alcohol or the like is used as a reaction medium; hydrogen, hydrazine hydrate, sodium sulphide, alcohol/water or the like is used as a reducer; and nickel oxide, ferric oxide, copper oxide and the like, or carrier thereof on silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, molecular sieves and activated carbon, Raney nickel, commercial Pd/C and the like are utilized to carry out catalytic reduction to prepare the 1-amino-2-acetylanthraquinone and derivatives thereof. By adopting the clean hydrogenation technique, the product yield is up to more than 97%; the new synthesis process has the advantages of high product quality, clean technique and the like, is simple to operate, and can easily separate the 1-amino-2-acetylanthraquinone and derivatives thereof; and the obtained medicine is cheap and accessible, so the economic benefit is very considerable.
