Avoidance and escape behavior following striatal lesions in the rat.

TL;DR: In the active avoidance situation those with striatal lesions were impaired in the acquisition of both avoidance and escape responses, and it was suggested that the impaired performance of the experimental subjects was due to a deficit in the ability to make the necessary motor adjustments under stressful conditions.

Caudate nucleus lesions and maternal behavior in the rat

TL;DR: Six rats received lesions involving the head of the caudate nucleus, the corpus callosum and the deeper layers of the frontal neocortex, and seven rats served as sham operated controls and showed no impairment in maternal behavior.
