Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen production from coal, water and electrons

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction proceeds at very mild temperatures and at operating electrical potentials significantly lower than the thermodynamic potential of water electrolysis, and the observed activation energies and the expected decomposition temperatures of the presumed intermediates suggest that much more rapid and steadier oxidation rates might be achieved at higher temperatures in the range 200-600 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidation of Ethylene over Silver: Adsorption, Kinetics, Catalyst

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a classical example of selectivity for partial oxidation to ethylene oxide versus complete combustion to carbon dioxide and water, which is a classic example of a selectivity problem for catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dichloromethane photodegradation using titanium catalysts

TL;DR: The use of titanium dioxide and titanium aluminosilicates in the photocatalytic destruction of chlorinated hydrocarbons is investigated in this paper, where it is shown that titanium dioxide is more active than titanium-exchanged clays, titanium-pillared clays and titanium dioxide in the amorphous, anatase, and rutile forms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chitosan in crab shell wastes purifies electroplating wastewater

TL;DR: In this paper, a preliminary economic analysis is presented to show the potential of using treated crab shell waste for purifying electroplating rinsewater, compared with currently used precipitation technology for removing metal ions.
