Isotopic Patterns in Modern Global Precipitation
TL;DR: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), has been conducting a world-wide survey of hydrogen (H/'H) and oxygen (O/O) isotope composition of monthly precipitation since 1961.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relation between long-term trends of oxygen-18 isotope composition of precipitation and climate.
TL;DR: This study indicates that long-term changes of isotopic composition of precipitation over mid-and high-latitude regions during the past three decades closely followed long- term changes of surface air temperature with the average 8180-temperature coefficient around 0.6 per mil per degree Celsius.
Journal ArticleDOI
The altitude effect on the isotopic composition of tropical rains
Roberto Gonfiantini,Michel-Alain Roche,Jean-Claude Olivry,Jean-Charles Fontes,Gian Maria Zuppi +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the isotopic data are fitted by using a numerical model based on Rayleigh adiabatic condensation process, which shows that the δ-gradient vs. altitude relationship slightly deviates from linearity, due to the lowering of temperature and the consequent increase of the condensation rate of atmospheric vapour.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isotopic and chemical composition of parbati valley geothermal discharges, North-West Himalaya, India
TL;DR: The isotopic compositions of the waters discharged from Parbati Valley geothermal areas indicate a higher altitude meteoric origin, with discharge temperatures reflecting variations in the depth of penetration of waters to levels heated by the existence of a normal geothermal gradient as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
The IAEA 14C Intercomparison Exercise 1990
Kazimierz Rozanski,Willibald Stichler,Roberto Gonfiantini,E. M. Scott,R.P. Beukens,Bernd Kromer,Johannes van der Plicht +6 more
TL;DR: The International 14C Quality Assurance Program was formulated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in February 1989, and the 14C Workshop held in Glasgow in September 1989, as mentioned in this paper.
