Global asymptotics of orthogonal polynomials associated with

TL;DR: In this article, the asymptotics of polynomials orthogonal with respect to the weight function w(x)=|x|^2^@ae^-^Q^(^x^),@a>-12, where Q(x)[email protected]?"k"="0^2mq"kx^k,q"2"m> 0,m>0 is a polynomial of degree 2m.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gerbils reared by rats: effects on adult open-field and ventral marking activity.

TL;DR: Rat-reared gerbil litters were divided and half the pups fostered to lactating mother rats whose own pups were removed, and there were no clear-cut effects on frequency of ventral marking, although there was a large sex difference for this measure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generalized Mellin Convolutions and their Asymptotic Expansions

TL;DR: Recently, two important techniques have been developed to give asymptotic expansions of I(x) as x → + ∞ or x → 0+. One method relies heavily on the theory of Mellin transforms and the other is based on the use of distributions as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the asymptotics of the Jacobi function and its zeros

TL;DR: Explicit and realistic error bounds are constructed for a one-term and a two-term asymptotic approximation of the Jacobi function as $\mu \to \infty $, uniformly for $t \in (0,\infty) $, which holds uniformly with respect to unbounded k.
