Federated Survival Analysis with Discrete-Time Cox Models.

TL;DR: This work uses the discrete-time extension of the Cox proportional hazards model to formulate survival analysis as a classification problem with a separable loss function, and trains survival models using standard FL techniques on synthetic data, as well as real-world datasets from The Cancer Genome Atlas, showing similar performance to a Cox PH model trained on aggregated data.

Federated Survival Analysis with Discrete-Time Cox Models

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors leverage the discrete-time extension of the Cox proportional hazards (PH) model to formulate survival analysis as a classification problem with a separable loss function.

Comprehensive decoding mental processes from Web repositories of functional brain images

TL;DR: In this article , the authors trained neural networks to predict cognitive labels on tens of thousands of brain images and successfully decoded more than 50 classes of mental processes on a large test set, which demonstrated that image-based meta-analyses can be undertaken at scale and with minimal manual data curation.
