Journal ArticleDOI

Age hardening of Zr-2.5 wt % Nb slowly cooled from the (α +β) phase field

TL;DR: In this paper, a fine two phase structure of α zirconium grains surrounded by a network of a second phase was identified by X-ray diffraction to be cubic β-zircium containing about 20 wt % Nb.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cracking of Zr-2.5 wt% Nb alloy tensile specimens by stray contamination

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that stressed specimens of Zr-2.5 wt% Nb alloy can suffer brittle failure as a result of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) caused by contamination with human perspiration.
