Journal ArticleDOI

Modulatory influence of sandalwood oil on mouse hepatic glutathione S-transferase activity and acid soluble sulphydryl level

TL;DR: Enhancement of GST activity and acid-soluble SH levels are suggestive of a possible chemopreventive action of sandalwood oil on carcinogenesis through a blocking mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modulatory influence of camphor on the activities of hepatic carcinogen metabolizing enzymes and the levels of hepatic and extrahepatic reduced glutathione in mice

TL;DR: The modulatory influence of camphor on the activities of hepatic phase I and phase II drug metabolising enzymes and the levels of hepatics and extrahepatic reduced glutathione contents in the mouse were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemoprevention of DMBA-induced transplacental and translactational carcinogenesis in mice by oil from mustard seeds (Brassica spp.)

TL;DR: It appears that mustard oil exerts its effect by inducing the enzymes of drug detoxification and also by changing the profile of the antioxidant defence system by inducing or inducing tumours in the F1 progeny of Swiss albino mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Promoting action of cashew nut shell oil in DMBA-initiated mouse skin tumour model system.

TL;DR: The results imply a weak tumour promoting effect of cashew nut shell oil as the mean tumour incidences were found to be 1.1 and 2.5 in 1% and 2% oil treatment groups, respectively, while the corresponding figure vas 6.6 in the positive control group.
